Friedman Memorial Committee

Friedman Memorial Committee

The Committee will honor the memory, spirit, and accomplishments of Judge Friedman. In addition, within the Association, the Committee will pursue a prestigious annual lecture, the Judge Daniel M. Friedman Appellate Lecture, to advance the field of appellate advocacy. Judge Friedman had a long and distinguished career as a Judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit (1982-2011), Chief Judge of the United States Court of Claims (1978-82), and a senior appellate attorney in the Office of the Solicitor General of the United States and an attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice. He was an esteemed federal jurist, a leading appellate advocate for the United States government, an extraordinary teacher of and mentor to his judicial law clerks and all who crossed his professional path. Judge Friedman was also a dedicated supporter of the Federal Circuit Bar Association.
